Dear Members and Colleagues:
We currently have $45,000 in the endowment and this year have actually accumulated enough from the interest to award a scholarship to a student. Buttons and I will be going to Gainesville for the UF Foundation meeting where the scholarship will be announced and we will meet with the student recipient.
You have no idea how honored we are to represent the Caloosa Veterinary Medical Society in this effort. The Foundation and the College of Veterinary Medicine recognize the importance of this effort on the part of the CVMS and thank us for it. To my knowledge, we are one of only two local veterinary organizations that have set up a scholarship fund. This puts us in a very unique position in our relationship with UFL and the Veterinary College.
Thanks to each of you who participate and support the Caloosa Society through your membership and attendance at the Peter Piper Conference, this is the kind of impact we can make on our profession one student at a time.
Sincerely,
Dick Carpenter
Treasurer.
