Colleagues:
Just wanted to up-date you on what is going on at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and the new small animal hospital.
The ground breaking for the new small animal hospital was on Friday, November 21, 2008. Buttons and I drove up to attend the ceremony and represent the Caloosa Veterinary Medical Society and each of our members.
It was a nice event and was attended by many dignitaries from both the University and the State Legislature; mostly the Senator and his aids that had the most to do with getting the State funding for the project.
The speeches were short and the ceremony brief, which was nice, and the ceremonial groundbreaking brief. We had a good time visiting with Dean Hoffsis, Karen Legato, the development director for Ufl,CVM and other school administrators.
I have included a few pictures of the dignitaries and we even managed to get Dean Hoffsis to pose with Buttons and me. You will note on the poster identifying the donors for whom the exam rooms will be named that the Caloosa Veterinary Medical Society is on the top of the list and we are the only Florida local veterinary association that is listed.
The Caloosa Society is recognized and commended for reaching out and supporting our State University and the College of Veterinary Medicine. We can all be proud of the accomplishments of the CVMS.
Thanks to you all for supporting your local Caloosa Society.
Sincerely,
Dick and Buttons Carpenter
